Thanksgiving is coming up soon. If you are hosting, the menu choices can cause stress. Everyone wants to have enough and provide guests the food they most crave. Take a big deep breath and use this guide to help.

How big of a turkey? The size of a turkey depends on the number of guests you are expecting. A general rule of thumb is a pound per person. So if you are having 10 people, you buy a 10 pound turkey.

Let us say you are having 20 guests. Buy two ten pound turkeys. They are easier to defrost and cook opposed to a twenty pound turkey.

Defrost the turkey by putting it in the coldest part of the refrigerator. Give it five hours for every pound according to Martha Stewart magazine.

Ask your guests to bring something but tell or suggest what they bring. This way you know what is coming. Make it a group effort!

Stuffing, green beans, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, corn and turkey make a delightful Thanksgiving. Don't forget the pumpkin pie and cool whip.

Happy Thanksgiving!
